A160 Air flow meter problems

Hi Guys,
I have a A160 automatic on which after inspection was told that air flow meter needed replacing, after searching on the net and asking a few other mechanics i was reffered to BBA Reman who to befair have reconditioned it and have sent it back, but after installing it the problem still persists, the mechanic who fitted it back on said he's even tried to tune the meter which is on top of the air flow meter box in form of a screw apparently! so we sent it back to BBA and they done there checks and said it's fine the mechanic may be having issues in terms of fitting it back in, anyway it came back and it's still doing the same thing!
could someone please please please advise me on what else it could be ?
thanks

If the MAFS is certified OK then it's the front Lambda sensor that gone that plays and equal part in the fuel/air flow and certainly needs checking.
I have just put a link on my site to a company offering lamda's for the 'A' Class at less than MB prices same item AND I got my readers 5%off as well so take a look at my page 34
Bert Rowe's-Mercedes-Benz 'A'-class info. Components Parts 160/2002 Exhaust Gas System

If your not confident that the problem isn't the MAFS then do as I said and sent it to roger at ECU testing for checking £35.00 and you will have peace of mind that the MAFS is OK if it's not get them to repair it and ask BBA for your money back. see all the contact details on my page 38

I also mentioned the fact that 'ECU testing' can repair your ECU so if the fault lies there they can deal with it you will get 15% off the cost of any repair or charge if you mention my site. I can't see the point of using BAA as they can only check and repair the MAFS if the fault lies in the ECU you have to send it elseware.

If you want to pay full price as I suspect you did at BAA then don't bother .The 15% discount applies to BBA reman as well BUT you must mention my site to get it , it's not automatic.
