A Class 140 (yr 2000) indicators and windows stopped working
Hi all, this is my first post.
My A Class developed a problem with its battery where it would not hold any charge. So I changed the battery a couple of days ago.
All was fine for a couple of days, but driving it this moring, the indicators (hazards too) did not work (didn't even flash when you remote-lock). Also my powered windows no longer working. Fuses are checked and all ok....
Before I take this into a garage, have any of you had a similar issue or any ideas of a quick potential fix !!
hi i have a c200 and once i had the same problem, the problem was the sam module when the batery is discharge or change the module don't work idon't know if you can program the module like the c200, well idon't know if your car have sam module.
follow the steps
unplug the batery and wait around 10 minutes
conect the batery and when the rpm are regular turn your steering wheel (slow) all to the left and all to the right return to the original position and try open a window or swich on the hazards
if you can't you need a dealer who program your car or search another way for manual programing
My father in laws A140 developed exactly the same problem. Now the electric windows only open about 3mm when the switch is pressed. So you can imagine how many times it needs pressing to open slightly.
close each window, which as you say can take a long time, When fully closed press each switch appropriate to the window down fully and hold it down until you hear a click or 30 secs this action should re-set the windows follow the same procedure for easch window using the switches between the front seats
