Clock symbol showing along with oil can on instrument cluster.
I have been contacted by an owner who has got a W168, which he has had for seven years
He has just done an ‘A’ Service part of which was to change the engine oil and oil filter. He has also re-set the Assyst no problems.
However when he now turns the keys in the ignition to start the car the oil can appears in the instrument cluster accompanied with a clock symbol above it.
Logic would say that the car is saying it's time to change the oil but that's not the case because he's just done the oil & filter.
I have never heard of these two symbols appearing together has any other owner encountered this display, and if so how did you sort it?
I can find nothing in the MB literature
And nowhere can I find information about these two symbols apart from the handbook OK, etc but it doesn't mention a clock!

Reason: enhanced question
Found the info I wanted, some of it's in the handbook, and even more was on my own site , I must get round to reading it sometime!
However there is nothing to explain what the flashing clock is for? if you want the answer see my page 35 Bert Rowe's-A-class info. Re setting service ASSYST following service W168 only
