Engine Management Light

Hi Folks

I'm new to this forum, I have a couple of questions hopefully someone maybe able to help with,

My girlfriend has a A-Class 160 , and since the battery ran flat (left interior Light on), the Engine management light has been on, how do I get this off ?
Do I need to take it to a dealer or is it a case of resetting something on the car / fuse board ?

Also since the car was Valeted the SRS light has been on and I can't seem to get this of either , any Ideas would be most appreciated.

Kind regards
Dave

Dave after valeting there is a chance that they have dislodged the connection to the front passenger seat sensor , either way disconnect the red connection then reconnect hopefully the SRS light will not be light when you turn the ignition back on .

Engine management light, If you disconnect the battery and leave it for say 30mins then turn on at least the side lights,
Then reconnect the battery it MAY stay out when you turn the ignition on, if it doesn't you will need to have the lamp deleted by a garage using a diagnostics tool
Other garages and some owners now have tools.
However if the car is pre 2000 petrol, 2004 diesel then you will have to go a MB garage as the diagnostics connection in the car MAY only be compatable with MB 'Star' diagnostics i

Either way Help or not, Please post feed back otherwise non of us are the wiser!

Hi Lofty

Thanks for the info , I will give them both a try in the next few days, The car is a 2003 model so hopefully a disconnect will work, otherwise its a trip down the local garage for me I think!

I'll let you know the outcome.

Kind regard
Dave

If you don't have a scanner, your local Autozone can read the CEL (check engine light) codes for free.

Well 'DaveyB' what was the outcome ? or is this just one more question to which we will never hear the outcome

When the outcome is never known it really makes me wonder if giving an answer is worth it , and having read other forums I know I'm not alone

The advise given either works or doesn't work I takes minutes to at least let us all know how you got on.
