| 2002 A170cdi Automatic 3 x problems
Bought a 2nd hand automatic 2002 A170 cdi 3 months ago at 52,000 mileage.
Problem began with "F" flashing on dash board while driving at "D". Then, the problem developed to be not able to start engine in the morning if rained last night. Now engine can be swtiched on in afternoon when weather is hot and dry. However, when drive on road, even put on "D" - driving gear, "F" comes and goes, and car jumps/shakes and speed come up very slowy. Seems to be that the gear is not engaged properly.
Drove 3,000 m since bought it and problems happened 1 after another. Problem 1. "F" flashing during driving; Problem 2. Can not switch on after raining, 1-2 lit. of water pour out on driving path from somewhere after raining; Problem 3. gear not engaged and no power after waiting at traffic junction.
Is it a complex problem that involved to change a lot of parts, ex. gearbox, ECU, Sensor, fluid or any other things? Or it can be fixed with just 1 piece. We bought 2nd hand because Benz's reputation and significant saves on price, however it turns out as costly and we consider to fix and sell it asap?
