Call Merc and get the part number for the AFM. Call eurocarparts and buy a genuine bosch unit from them, you'll save yourself approx 33% from dealer part, approx £220. Its exactly the same part just without the merc logo printed on it. Alternatively you can call BBA Reman for the part, approx £140 for refurbished unit.
If your good at DIY, I would replace the light yourself as its quite easy. Instructions can be found on
Albert Rowe, Lofty's homepage on how to replace the part yourself.
You can even reset the engine light once replaced yourself by disconnecting the car battery, and reconnecting after 30 secs. Save yourself £800 on the whole job.
Got the same problem I think on the mrs's car, it idles rough. Can anyone tell me of their engine appears when they put the key in position 2 along with all the other check lights. Its not appearing on our one, think the bloke who had it before took the bulb out.
