Im new to the site, been having a look around and looks great.
I dont have an A-Class (Have a C2 VTR) but my Sister In-Law has an A140 (2000). Last night I took it out and a friend of mine opened the passeneger side door, as he did the handle came loose in his hand and it wouldnt open from the inside.
I was just wondering does anyone know how to take the doorcard off so I can get a look inside?
Hiya, I saw your request and done a little digging for you, to remove the door card first their are 3 screws to remove, one by the air bag logo on the door, the other ones are in the handle part, There should be 2 blanks over handles on the door screws, remove them obiously, then proceed, once the screws are out, the door card is fixed with plastic push on / pull off popers, be carefull when pullling door card away from the door apature, ------, for more indepth details if needed , try the BabyMerc owners club, that site is brill,as is this one,,,,,,take care,, Rachy
Thanks for your reply Rachy. I cant seem to get to the screws. Do i need to take off the SRS Airbag Logo and the door handle to get to the screws? Because the whole doorcard is covered in cloth so do I just need to unclip these plastic bits to get at the screws?
Also when you say handle do you mean the vertical hadle to pull the door or the chrome handle to open the door?
I know they are there but just cant get to them. Please let me know if you can as I dont fancy giving it into a garage.

I did this today and the white clip holding the cable to the door handle had come lose so there was no tension. Simply popped it back in its mount in the doorcard and it worked fine.
