Multiple EUC failures - T reg A170 - Benzworld.org - Mercedes-Benz Discussion Forum

HI,

I own a A170 (1999) 9 weeks ago my EPC light came on and restricted the car to under 3000 revs. The local Merc dealer quoted 1,200 as a new ECU was needed. Having paid the 1,200 and had a new ECU fitted the problem keeps coming back. In fact i've now had 3 fitted! The dealer has also replaced the MAP sensor. The last time i got the car back it was ok for a week and the light came back on. The car is due back into Mercedes for the sixth time.

The dealer seams to think that the unit is shorting out??

Has anyone had simular problems??

Hi, I have an A170 with the EPC Light on, Fuel is restricted now and can be difficult to start.

I have not yet had the car checked with an obd scanner - computer diagnostic machine. However, If you have had yours diagnosed to be the ECU and you have had that changed? then I would check your connections - plugs are all clean and a tight fit.

I was hoping to pick up some info before spending money on the diagnostics.
