Help! NO owners manual

Hi! I just bought a Mercedes A class. A160 W168. I just have a few quick questions. The car did not have any owners manual so I am confused.

1. What does the W/S mode stand for in an automatic transmission? On what type of driving should I use each setting?

2. What is the EC button for?

3. What the ACR off button is for?

4. Lastly, would anyone know what product number is Mercedes A class wheel locking bolt part number 10. Does anyone know where I can buy them in London?

Hello there.

The W/S mode button stands for Winter and Standard. Winter mode increases torque and thus adherence when starting. I believe that under normal conditions, standard mode is to be prefered as it improves acceleration and makes the ride more comfortable.

The ACR button inhibits the electronic drive assistance. This again might be necessary when driving under certain winter-conditions (snow, ice), but should normally be let active.

I can't remember what the EC button is for, but if you really need it I'll have a look in my manual.

I hope this reply brings an answer to at least 2 of your questions.

Last: the owner manual brings a lot of detailed information regarding the use of the car. For instance how to use the sequential transmission mode, accelerator kickdown, how to manually open the fuel reservoir, aso. I therefore recommend that you go to your Mercedes Benz dealer and ask for a copy. It isn't a huge investment, and it's well worth the money.

Regards.

I think EC stands for economy, It disengages the AC compressor, and lets in the outside air.

EC puts your air conditioning in economic mode. This is how I use it in the winter but in the summer better leave that off
ACR helps me allot if I get stuck in snow. Sometimes I get to 4th gear before I move out
