A class+filler cap

Hi ,
this is a most embarrassingg question I know . I've hired an A class Mercedes automatic and have it for a month. Can someone tell me how to open the petrol filler cap? I asked the car hire company they told me that i just use my fingers ! I tried and it didn't work . I have the car for a month and will be needing to fill it up shortly . If someone would be so kind to enlighten me I'd be very grateful .

I suppose that it's a new A-class (the W169) - but if Mercedes-Benz is consequent I think it is the same as a my A-class W168.


If you're in front of the filler-cap, be sure that all doors are unlocked (than the fillercap should be unlocked too) and push on the right-side of the metal plate covering the cap and the left side should come towards you.

Then the only thing you have to do is turn the cap itself counterclockwise and voila. Normally there is space to put the filler cap on the inside of the plate covering the fillercap.
