I have the new A-Class (A 150 Classic) for about a week now. I am curious what dou you think about the suspension, is it me, or the suspension is really hard. It is not that it is uncomfortablem but I expected a little more comfort...And what about the avantgarde model of if I put 16" or 17" wheels, what would be the ride like then...

Thanx
SirOracle.
Did you ever try a 168 ? / !. The 169 Model has a MUCH improved ride, which IMHO for such a small car is excellent.
The avantgarde model has more 'sporting' setup and I would exspect a harder ride.
Both 16 and 17 inch wheels are factory options. Alloys because of lower unsprung weight should improve the ride.

Wheels are a great idea, what are you us using at the present ? [:D]. Seriously if you consider the 169 is a too hard ride, check your tire pressures dealers can over inflate them along with the prices.
yes..the tires were over inflated (they were 3 bars instead of 2.0). I have the standard 15" wheels which come with the classic model. I have deflated them to the proper pressure and now the ride is much better! Why are the dealers overinfalting the tires anyway?

If I were you I would take it up with your dealer service department and MB.
Three bars is definitly over inflalted !. Sounds as if they confused 30 PSI (2.1 bar)with 3 bars. Theaten them with trading standards & weights and measures (could get a free service). IMHO the vehicle was dangerous and in the event of an accident you insurers might have held you liable.
If no one complains they will continue making the same error. You definitly have a delivered quality complaint which needs addressing. (I hope MB read this forum).
I had the older A 190, long, and any trip over a couple of hours was very tiring from the hard suspension. Any trip over 45 mins was painfull for the rear pax due to the atrocious seats plus the hard ride. Hope they did better on the newer ones. Sold it, and back to luxury/comfort on my old trusty 1989 300E 4 matic.
Yes, I had a A168 and the ride was simply harsh....a long ride (well a long for me, 5 hours) was a pain in the back for sure, and a riding sensation hours later.... was great for short city traveling...not for highway or any decent country side picnic....All the rest was superb!
