OEM cd-player - A140

I replaced the OEM cd player from our A140 with a cd/mp3 player. I salvaged the original A140 cd-layer and popped it in my good old w123 300d. The thing is that it plays original cds fairly well but when it comes to home burned cds it takes a lot of time to read or won’t read them at all. Does this have to do with the blank cds, the burning method or is the player faulty? Would cleaning the lens help?

Thanks.

RE: OEM cd-player - A140

I Know That The Older CD Players Are Very Picky When It Comes To Home Made CDs It Has To Do With The Way The Computer Actually Burns The CD And As Such I Doubt It Is The CD Player That Is Faulty...

The Same Thing Happens When You Try To Play Burned CDs In Older Home Stereos They Tend To Skip Or Not Read At All...[8)]

The best way to Copy Audio CDs on a Computer is to use a good Writter Prog such a "Nero Reloaded" & use "Copy CD".

Even then the CDs may not play in some old Cd Players
