Emergency Brake Assist

The Emergency Brake Assist light comes on even on light braking when the temperature is below 19C.

The Mercedes ageng said it was the switch on the Servo. The Servo would have to be replaced at a cost of £400 as the switch was not a spare part!

Having obtained a new switch, a Mercedes Spare part and fitted it, the same fault is present.

The Brakes work perfectly.

Any ideas?

RE: Emergency Brake Assist

Unfortunatly, It's Just One Of Those Things That Happens... The Electronics In The A-Class Isn't The Sharpest, And Things Like Contact Point Could Be Eroded And May Cause Incomplete Circuits Some Times And Be Fine The Next... Hard To Say... Might Be Best To Get A Second Opinion That Doesn't Cost 400Pounds Cause They Are Stealerships... [:(!]

RE: Emergency Brake Assist

might be the booster causing the BAS to fail (relase swicth). Brake system is not affected when BAS fail, the assist to brake more force in an event of sudden braking is not functioning. Your dealer can find out what really causing this thru the Star Diagnosis fault code.
