A160 doesn't go past 30mph! - Benzworld.org

I recently bought a year 2000 X reg A160 semi auto, the car drives well but it occasionally refuses to go past 30MPH!! even if you depress the accelerator fully. This happens once in a while.Any ideas? I have parked it until I have time to take it to a merc garage. will really appreciate your input. thanks

Hi, This has happened to us too. In fact this is the second A class where we have the same fault. It's with the dealer now.

Do you know any more.

Maybe the ignition module is defective. Then the engine runs in an emergency programme

Correct Me If Im Wrong But The Speed Limiter Can't Be Activated Until It Goes Past 60Km/h Which Is Like 37Miles...

The 30 Miles Seems To Me Like It's The Save Mode... [?]

Check Battery Voltage.

If the Battery Volts are only 10-11Volts this will cause this problem.
