My A-Class squeaks...anyone know why? - Benzworld.org

[:(]Help, my 5 year old A160 Elegance has developed a really loud annoying but intermittant squeak. My local garage can't find a problem but think it is one of the many drive belts. Does anyone know what might be causing it ?

Ummm It Depends On How The Noise Is Started... Like If You Are Turning, Or Doing A U-Turn Then It Could Be The Sway-Bar/CV Joint That Could Be The Problem... Otherwise It Could Do With One Of The Belts That's Worn... Get The MB Dealer To Check It Out....

Try oiling the telescopic rods that hold up the tailgate when opened. Those were the cause of squeaking in my A160.

i Have the same model A160 Avantgarde (october 1998) and mine also sqeaks during turning, U turn or just turning especially with slow driving it is really anoying.
Do you know the solution??

Yeah That Sounds Like The C.V Joint In The Front Of The Car Are Worn... Go The The Benz Shop And Have Them Either Reoil The Parts Or You May Have To Have Them Replaced...

I am sorry but does anyone has a picture of the cv joint or a layout from this section so i can try to locate it and decide wheither to replace it myself or to see if oiling will help
