RE: A 32 Kompressor

Re my previus posting.

The original posting date referred to in this thread (April Fool Day 2003), has changed (Magic) to

(quote)Posted 4/2/2003 3:02 AM (#1123847).

(A day later).

I am concerned that dates of postings can be altered, after the date of posting of the original tread.

The expression SUCKERED comes to mind!

RE: A 32 Kompressor

According to my AMG General Catalog. This A32K is for real. With that amount of HP, this car is not ready yet to meet the north american standards. On sunday on the autobahn in germany, this car flies over the 200 mph speed limit.

I heard that Mercedes Benz is redisging its total fleet. So, brand new designs, cars for 2006. Already in my country there is a CLS on the way.

RE: A 32 Kompressor

Hi,

To be correct, this is a product made by HWA, the racing division of AMG.

"H.W.A. GmbH
AMG and the HWA team that followed is the most successful team in DTM history. The team has won the drivers title six times already. The team from Hans Werner Aufrecht, whose initials form the company name, is responsible for the engineering of all eight Mercedes-Benz cars competing in the DTM.

HWA is the racing department of AMG. It was left aside, after DaimlerChrysler AG had acquired the majority of the AMG shares in January 1999. Chief Hans Werner Aufrecht has been active in motorsport for more than 30 years. Aufrecht’s team has been the offi cial Mercedes-Benz partner team in the DTM since 1998."

It is in the same league as the: A38 (= great picture of the second engine in the boot)

Apart from twin egines and the more standard W168 interior the A32 Kompressor uses a lot of components of the SLK (dashboard,...).

The steering as well is part of the pre-fcelift SLK as seen here
