I have obtained a can of air conditioning anti bacterial spray to get rid of the smell from the air con. I have to either locate the fan unit or the pollen filter and spray it in while the fan is running.
I have looked for both the pollen filter and the vent for drawing air from the cabin but can't find either.
if i remember rightly the plastic panel at the base of the windscreen hides the pollen filter on the passenger side, requires removal of wiper arms and about 6 screws or so.
Eric....
[:)]hi stew I'm a new boy here , re your pollen filter if you link http://homepage.ntlworld.com/albert.rowe
you can see a load of pics on where and how to get at that filter.
I haven't been posting on this forum for a while and haven't read it lately so sorry for not responding.
I did find the pollen filter - it is located under the plastic trim where the wiper blades are fixed.
However it is easier to put the can of antibacterial spray near the air intake in the passenger footwell, turn the blower on recirculation & full power and then lock the can so as it is spraying continuously. Shut the door and wait a short time and the job is done.
This cured the damp smell problem and it hasn't come back for 2 years.
