My wife took her A140 in for its second MOT on Friday, and it failed for a couple of minor reasons, and one big one. We were told that the off-side rear spring was broken (I assume for the suspension). [:(]
The car has only done 28,000 miles, and even the service manager said that it was very bad that the spring should break after such a relatively short distance. He said he would try to get Mercedes to pay part of the cost for good-will.
We have found out today that Mercedes are not willing to offer good-will [:(!], so we will have to pay the full cost (£500+). We have no real choice as the MOT expires tomorrow, the day the car is booked in for the repair and re-test.
The garage has said that they may pay part of the cost, as it was the garage we bought the car from, but they will not be able to confirm this until the service manager is back on Monday.
Can anyone offer any advice as to how we can get some recompense for this?
