I have a '99 A190 with two remote, my girl friend has one and I have one, my car's warranty expired 3 days ago but my girl friend only told me last night that her remote has became defective! I changed the batteries and it didn't work and upon close inspection, I found the conductive pins are sort of crooked, so I bend it back in place and the light does come on afterward, but it still doesn't work... Bascially there's no response from the car, the door doesn't lock and the side markers doesn't light.
The stupid dealer want $300 Euro to replace the remote, I'm wondering is there a cheap alternative or is the remote just out of sync? Could I re-program it Please help!!!!! Thanks
i think you should refer to another garage with your problem. even though you warranty expires, there is what is called "good will" . the garage can fax it to the local dealers and you should get a new one for free.
few months after my warranty expired, the fuel meter thingie in my A160 broke down. it was replaced without me having to spend a cent..
