Can anyone kindly provide a part number for the 115 volt AC power outlet?
Thank you
I have several MB cars. I would like to install the 115 volt outletlet in the trunk of my 2014 E350.
Hmmm, I am not finding that to be the case (see pic). There is a socket, but it is 12v. If you post your VIN I can tell you the exact parts you need.I'm not 100% sure yet. The E350 does have this option
The outlet is located on the back of the center console. The outlet replaces the ash tray.
That doesnt matter. I can filter out the SA options in EPC and see the exact parts and mounts needed for your exact model, hence the VIN is needed. There is no need to fear posting your VIN. It's on your windshield anyway. The only thing a forum member could do with it is buy you insurance.I wish that I could give you my VIN so that you could look it up but my car was not equipped with the outlet installed. If it had I wouldn't be going through this process.
OK, I have made progress!Thank you very much. I am expecting to get my hands on the inverter and cable from the GL this afternoon. I haven't ordered the receptacle yet. Worst case (easiest option) I can order the GL receptable and mount it in the trunk lining next to the 12v outlet.[ I would love to find a way to put it where depicted in the back of the center console. We have the rear seat entertainment system so this would enable using a game system with it. Thank you for all of the assistance..
Hi, I would like to install Mercedes 115v outlet in Subaru. Is the red and pink wires both positive? And brown is negative/ground? I would like to wire it to 12v cigarette lighter.Success! I've got all of my parts, the plug on the cable from the GL plugged right into the receptacle that is called for in my E350. I powered up the inverter and plugged in a 115 volt cord. Yellow light on the receptacle came on and I got 115 volts AC on my test meter. I will connect brown wire to ground red/white wire to fuse 74 and pink wire to fuse 83.
I believe that I can dremel out the ash tray insert to fit the new receptacle. I now need to figure out how to get the cable from the trunk to the center console, and how to pull the lining out of the passenger side of the trunk. I'm sure that I can find a place to mount the inverter near the fuse block.
I'm going to take pictures and do a write up on the project.
Thank you all for your help..
