The lights work great. Tonight I adjusted the beam. They were too low before. Now it's paradise.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

THANKS for the great write up. I actually ordered this same kit a few days ago from ebay member MTEC:
eBay Motors: MTEC HID CONVERSION KIT MERCEDES W164 ML350 ML500 ML63 (item 380066709821 end time Sep-29-08 19:48:58 PDT)

Great communication thus far and fedex called today saying it will clear custom and be delivered MONDAY.

I actually also purchased a set for my fog lights so any write ups for that one? If not, I guess I'll get the camera ready

Happy Thanksgiving too (to all Canadians). Americans will only have it by next month, when all our turkeys will go south

MY2008ML350, what happened? Are you going to do the HID conversion? It will look great to illuminate all that snow now with winter coming.

And C4SXM5, did you install your kit? How did that go? If you also did the foglights, I would be interested to see a picture of your cutoff line.

I did do the install on both low and fog lights. On the fogs you won't need the special clips or any plugs, just plug & go. Will try to get some pics for everyone including pics of the car itself (just picked her up for the MRS last weekend).

On a side note, I may also have an extra set of H7 kit with 6500K bulbs if anyone is interested.

Pics will follow soon..

I'm still thinking if I will do it. I like the idea ; it's really great BUT I don't want to affect my warranty. So far, I did not have any problems with my ML (is that surprising ?) almost 20K km and will be a year old late November. I'm still probably old school -don't change if nothing's wrong. I'll probably start tinkering with th electricals next year. I saved all the instructions including all pictures that you posted in a separate file for future reference. Thanks

Try to make the size of your pics smaller. In fact, bw only allows 640x480 resolution but they load anyway; probably that's why...

The last picture is of your foglight cutoff line, right? If so, then I'm quite impressed.

On most cars, the foglights scatter light that often goes higher than the low-beam cutoff. And therefore, for most cars a HID conversion in the foglights results in horrific glare to oncoming traffic.

It seems that the ML's foglights are very tame and civil. The foglight cutoff line is certainly below the low-beam cutoff. Looks excellent!
