My ML320 CDI with some Brabus things

Hi everyone, i am an owner of ML 320 CDI MY 2008, just 7 months and 21 540KM ( 13 340 miles ). Generaly i am very satisfied with the car, it is my bear :-).

I will not describe my equipment, in brief heated and ventilated seats, Command, AIRMATIC, exterior sport package, adaptive bi-xenon, parktronic....

Because i am not satisfied with anything in standard so i went to Brabus to "upgrade" my car a little bit .

First i started with aluminium pedals, velour carpets, illuminated entrance panels, leather door panels, doorpins, sport leather and alcantara steering wheel, chrome BRABUS letters on sides and tailgate, front hood embleme, LED tail lights.

And with the engine i went with CARLSSON C-TRONIC DIESEL POWER, engine is now producing 198kW and 610 Nm. 0-60mph is done in 7.8 sec and max speed is 146 MPH.
Thats all for now, but i have Brabus On-Road front and rear spoiler on the way. Followed by Brabus lowering module and Brabus sport exhaust system.

Finally i would like to add wheels and thats WHY i am writing this.

My question is, go with 22" and 265/35 R22 tires and risk COMFORT and axles damage. Or go with 20" and 275/40 or 265/45? With 22" i will NOT lower the car, with 20" i WILL lower the car.
SO please owners of 20" and 22" can You please write Your experience??¨

Can you tell me more about the engine. Is that a chip/computer upgrade? How do you like it? Easy install? Better fuel economy? I'm interested in something like that. What did it cost? Would recommend any other computer upgrades to consider in addition to the one you chose?

Very good looking ML. The mods make it look very nice. Was it broken into? I see one of the pictures with broken glass in it.

I think I would go with 20" wheels, but it might depends on the wheels you choose too.

I have the same car. Please elaborate on the diesel tuning. Is it a chip program that is downloaded to the ecu?
I went with 20x9.5 wheels et38. They come right to the fenders and look great. Tires are 275/45/20. I went with the 45 series instead of 40 to get that extra bit of comfort. My wife didn't want a rough ride. I think the 45's filled up the fenders a bit more so it looks good even without lowering. I've heard these cars don't take well to lowering (rough ride). 22's will look better but the ride will suffer too.

Hello guys, thank you very much for replies.

About that chip: i have CARLSSON CD32 diesel power, here you can read about him:

Other option is BRABUS D6 it is on same system, it is power box backed by 3years/100 000 km Garantue on engine, axles, diferentials and transmission. You can chose kleeman KD box it is good too.

The box is connected via cables that plugs into original ECU. No cutting, no rewiring, no remaping ECU, you can remove that box everytime you like.
Fuel consumtion remained SAME, if you drive same style like before you can save 0.5 - 1 liter. I have that 13 500 miles with him and absolutely no problems for now. I have plenty od friends with that chip,1x CLK 320cdi with Brabus D6, 2x ML, 1x S-class.

To that wheels, i am worried about 40 profile on that 275. I would rather go with 265/45 R20 and Brabus monoblock S. I am thinking of buying Lorinser RS 8 in 10X21 but mixing lorinser and brabus?

I will gladly answer any of your questions on engine tuning.

Thanx...they turned out better than I thought. Got them off ebay but not staggered...I asked for them 20x9.5 all around ($100 more). They are a really nice hyper silver finish and super quality looking wheels. Hubcentric merc reps.

So why not get 275/45/20? 265's might look skinny. 45's will ride better. Overall diameter is fine for 275/45/20.

275/45/20 is a taller tire than stock, essentially giving equivalent of taller gearing and slower acceleration.
