When closing your window, when it hits an object during the process of closing (such as an arm), the window will go down instead of continuing to go up preventing an accident to happen (such as a severed head- yuck! ). Didn't know about this feature nor can't find it in the owner's manual. You guys can also try but be warned in case the feature will not work for you.
BTW, I also tried it in my C300, also works !! (Also not in the owner's manual)
Glad you found it but this feature has been around for long enough that car makers no longer need to advertise it. Its great when kids stick their hands out when you are raising the windows

True w/sunroofs too. Also notice the power window switch design, for kid safety also.

From what I understand all vehicles with one touch close power windows have this feature. It may be mandated I am not certain. Its been around for a very long time.

Could be but I'm not sure; something like those garage door openers
Yeah, I remember the 2001 Toyota Rav4 didn't have that feature on the moonroof. So they made you hit the switch 2 times to close it. Lame and ultra cheap engineering of such an inexpensive and useful safety feature.
I am not sure if the system is set up the same as the C-Class but in my car, the feature only works if you use auto up. If you only pull the switch up to the first notch and hold it there to close the window, my car's window will crush your hand. It happened to a friend of mine.
