To clarify the answer to your questions, its quite simple there is no key dependency in the ML. The wheel and seat (06 only) return to the same place that they were left when the vehicle is shut off regardless of which key is used.

l was reading your reply, and yes..my stolen 06 ML350, had the feature of the seat and wheel moving at the same time, the easy-entry feature....l picked up another 06 ML 350, actually an American vehicle , and only the wheel moves this time...Did the dealership somehow shut off the seat function ?????

From what I understand the seat should move on all 06's. As stated it can be turned off or on with the MFD display menu. They did "decontent" this on later vehicles which is why I am still driving my 06. This feature is great and eases the entry and exit of the ML. Better yet my 05 E has this feature along with key dependency which allows the wheel and seat to go to the correct position of the driver that inserts his/her key. Also this was decontented in the E which is why I still have my 05 E. Do not know what I will yet do when both are to be replaced as one of the reasons I buy MB's is for these convience features. May look elsewhere. Its already cost MB 2 new vehicle sales with me.

Yes I would have been really happy if the seats moved to the last key setting upon unlocking the vehicle, it would be already to go then by the time you get to the vehicle.
l see this on page 174....but my MFD has only off and on for the easy-entry feature, whereas my other 06 ML had the steering col, and steer, col+seat feature...l'm wondering if this is a premuim package thing, l had the premuim package on my other 06 ML, whereas now l have the sport package.....with the alcantra seating....

I think you need the memory package to get the seat to move on the easy entry/exit settings.
