Ordering process/advice
I'm looking for experience and advice on the ordering process for a 2009 model, or someone that has been through the equivalent pre-order process in prior years. Unless I'm mistaken, 2009 pricing hasn't been announced yet, so how do you do it? Seems like you're committing, either fiancially or emotionally, to whatever MRSP is finally announced. Do you renegotiate once the price is announced?
I ordered my 08 320CDI from my dealer in edmonton canada. Its a painless process...other than waiting for delivery. An hour with the salesman and perhaps a few looks at vehicles they have on the lots to make sure colors etc look good on your vehicle. Give them a deposit and youre out the door. Keep an eye on the website or be in contact with your salesman to make sure you take advantage of any rebates etc. Mine took about 4 months for delivery. One thing to keep in mind..ordering a vehicle means paying at or close to MSRP. I could have gotten a good deal buying off the lot but wanted all the options so bit the bullet. As far as i know, you cant order a vehicle without pricing so just keep in touch with your sales guy and he/she will phone you as soon as they have pricing available

Make sure you can get your deposit back if you decide not to follow through on the order. My dealer was willing to let the car come in and let me drive before actually buying it.
Also, I was able to negotiate a very favorable price even though it was custom ordered.
I did initally have a problem with the configurations. Especially the web site that did not match the real config. But what the dealer ordered is actually what was delivered.
