I have a Black ML 320, Year 2007 and for some strange reason today I lost my fuel (metal) cap cover, it must have fallen while driving, how it took place I have no explaination.
Can somebody help me in getting a new one, suggest a suitable dealer or place where i can purchase online the new fuel cap cover.
Are you talking about the cap itself or the flap that covers it?? If its the flap it is not metal but some sort of fibreglass or plastic. If the hinges broke then you have a body shop deal and it will require some paint work. Buying one outright will not help unless you have the skills and a shop to do the job. Just take your ML to a dealer and have it replaced

Thanks for your reply. The Cap itself is missing, only the plastic/fiberglass is there on the car. The dealer in this part of the world do not have the item it takes week to get, if I know the place to buy I can get it much quicker, any suggestions ?

I know first hand why there is a tether on the cap. During the cold months, the tether on my JEEP would bind and end up slipping under the cap as I screwed it on. Frustrated, I yanked the tether off the vehicle and cap, and it didn't take long before I would hear a strange "thumpety-thumpety-thump" as the cap rolled along the roof and fell to the ground. Lucky for me I have spare gas caps lying around at work. Only problem is, I am starting to run out!
