Survey.. 2008/2009 W164 ONLY owner experience..

I've been an ML320 01 owner with an MB extended warranty but every time a repair is needed it is not covered. So time for a new ML and this time no extended warranty.

So for all those recent model owner please share your experience.

Thanks in advance.

Solid car. No problems since purchase (9/07). 8000 miles with trips through heavy, deep snow as well as heat. V8 is huge power, not so good mileage.

Buy the Diesel (CDI). All the power, and you may see 30+MPG at times on the Turnpike

Thumbs up 4th ML

I am on my 4th ML
The 98 was a nightmare for electronic problems.
The 2002 was sound and gave no problems, Traded it for the G500.
The 2005 had 11 k on it when I bought it. No problems with it at 29KTraded it for the 2008 CDI and so far I am very pleased. Got it a week ago.

Thanks for your reply. I see a lot of CDI owners. While diesel has more torque and fuel efficient however with diesel being more expensive at the pump I don't see the real advantage. Any thoughts?

Obviously each case is different and you'd have to run your own numbers but many people have found that the gain in fuel economy is still greater than the price difference in premium to diesel. Factors to consider include location, time of year (diesel prices drop during summer months), miles driven, and driving style.

I'm also curious, what kind of repairs were not covered?
