DVD Video on Comand APS on ML280CDI??? - Benzworld.org

Hi, can someone tell me please how can i watch a DVD Video (movie, clips) on my comand APS on my W164 2006 ML280CDI?
I retroffited my Audio 20 with a new Comand APS but i can't watch a DVD, it doesn;t recognize it. My car is a EU version and My command too. It has a video button.
I don't have neither a TV Tuner or a DVD changer. What can i do?

Now I have a US 08ML320cdi, but I can play dvd's in the GPS dvd player. This only works if the ML is in Park.

I could be wrong, but I was of the understanding that you can't play movies on the ML Comand system (unless you have the rear screens etc fitted).

I must say that I haven't tried playing them on my Comand system (ML280CDI)...but will do so tonight and report back :-)

I just checked - my Comand system does not play DVD's.

If yours is bone stock it is the only one that I have heard of in the US that can.

I had retrofitted my car with europe comand aps.To be able to watch dvd's you have to add a dvd player preferably in the glove compartment like i did.The good thing about this,is that it can be used while driving too.I also fitted a tv tuner,and back seat screens,also a major sound upgrade.

Tell me please what kind of cable you used in order to connect a dvd player to your comand aps and in wich place you conected it. Because i went to some masters to do this job and nobody could. Tell me please or show me some pictures.

Iam afraid is not as easy as adding cables to do this.
You need first a multimedia interface adapter wich goes at the back of the unit,is plenty of space,you do not have to buy it from Mercedes and then you can add anything you like ie cd-changer,telephone,amplifier,tv tuner etc.A good shop where they fit this things they will tell you.
