Jerky Transmission SOLVED PROBLEM ML-350

Hi, As every body knows this is an old and very well known problem for most of ML-350 (mine is a 2007) I have my car since new, and since first day I noticed the jerky trans. Of course this is unacceptable for any brand new car and specially for a MBenz. After several visits to the dealer where they "tune" the Trans. and reprogram the computers, there were no satitsafactory results. I have to tell you that the dealer knows very well this problem in ML's before my first visit, but they explain me that they have to perform in the car this first steps I have explained before, and after this they may take a drastic solution. CHANGE THE VALVE BODY , but here comes the most important thing; there are two different valve bodies (maybe more than two). The original VBody and the new ones. Ofcourse MBenz knows the problem and they redesigned a new VBody. I live in Cuernavaca Mexico, and the dealer requested the Vbody to Germany, I had to wait 3 weeks before the spare parts come to the dealer, they performed the change and now my car is as it should have come from the factory absolutely smooth.
I wish and hope this helps to all the people with jerks problems. If your car is under warranty they have to change this without charge, if you are out of warranty is another story. (sorry for my english)

every model has a different valve body. same part but different software. the slks has a 1206, e class a 1306 or 1806, new e class a 2106. the problem the dealers face is they cant just put a valve body in it even if there is a newer number. and they cant just change it cause you ask. i know that it usually fixes the issue, but dealers have to flash the control unit first, try adapting the gears before a valve body can be done. and they have to be authorized by mbusa before they can be done.

So even though I live in Canada My dealer ship STILL has to check with MBUSA? So then, what is the Valve body number for the new ML Suvs'? I have a 06 ML 500, which valve body is required for that then?

I have an 06 ML350. My tranny works fine almost all the time. Sometimes I get a rough shift from 2nd to 1st gear, but not often enough to justify a fix. Since I have another couple of years on the MB warranty, I'll monitor and see if it gets worse.
