For those who have experienced significant snowfall, just want to know any additional issues with the HVAC fan blower motor due to snow/ice being sucked into the filter from the vent on the hood.
Just had my blower motore replaced several weeks ago under warranty due to this design flaw. Supposedly the dealer modified the vent with some additional drain holes and other modifications. I have not experienced any snowfall since to test this "fix".
Do you guys still make sure the vent on the hood is completely free of snow before turning on the defroster? For those who have this repair performed, any addtional problems with snow/ice?

I did ask my dealer, but we don't get enough snowfall here (nor super low temperatures) for my dealer to know of this issue. Nonetheless I am definitely clearing off snow off the intake vent after hearing of this issue!

Not heard or seen this problem before, we get snow every other day and I have the habit of cleaning snow off the hood each time. (it blows back on to the windscreen at highway speed ). I guess this is one more reason to keep cleaning it off.

Good info to know when I'm up in the snow country (Lake Tahoe area).

I'm in Coquitlam. You guys in Vancouver pretty much received no snow at all! It snowed overnight and for the full day out here in the TriCities. I popped up to SFU as well this afternoon and they had about a 1 to 1.5 feet of snow! Thank god for Airmatic heh. More pics to come of that later.

And as promised, here we go with a few more pictures in a ribbon of empty university parking lots. They received about 12-20 inches of snow, even more so than where I live.
Airmatic Raised mode was invaluable to avoid getting high centred in the heavy wet snow that we get out here. Ah, my little monster truck, heh.
