Why no LED on the taillights
Why didn't Mercedes use LED for the stoplights? Even Honda Accord's have them as standard. Why is MB being cheap on such a nice vehicle. Thanks.

Why? What good are they? They limit the styling of the lens........

well, lets see. Most of the high end cars have them because LED last a lot longer and gets bright a lot faster than the standard bulbs.

How do you figure?
Theoretically, you could buy led bulb arrays from autolumination and use your existing housings. But, yes, it is a shame.

Some on this board actually bought aftermarket LED for their 164 and it looked great. Do a search and you'll see pics. Was a easy diy job

LEDs would be nice, but I'm not convinced that MB even knows how to make conventional brake lights.
My last C240 had brake light assemblies twice and now my 06 ML is in the shop for same thing. We will see how the new 08 C-class is, should be no excuses...
