where are leather inserts in mbtex?

how do i clean/maintain my macadamia mbtex? it easily stains with blue jeans.

where are the leather inserts? are these the vertical ribbed portions?

all my previous mbs had full leather, all i do is apply leather conditioner on them, how shall i maintain mbtex with leather inserts?

my upper dash is also beginning to show vague white stains, as if soap is applied and left to dry on the dash, how can i fix this? would mb interior care do the trick?

I use this on the edges of my seats:

Gold Class™ Vinyl/Rubber Protectant G10624 Product Information

And I use this on the leather inserts (yes they are the perforated part of the seat... and the headrests I believe)

Gold Class™ Leather Cleaner & Conditioner G7214 Product Information

On the dash I use just plain water on a terry cloth towel.

This is an ML. Doesn't have the same seats as a 2000C. No perforations and no leather.

I agree. We have the Ash Interior and have not had any issues with staining from jeans which I wear all the time. I have used the Stoner cleaning products on the hard plastic parts with good results. As far as the seats I believe any mild cleaning solution and a damp rag should clean them up. It's something I need to look up in the Owner's Manual now that it's been brought up for discussion!

Look at his signature. He has an '02 ML which does have perforated leather inserts and MB tex sides.

hmmm...are there really no real leather inserts?

my US brochure states...."MBTex with leather front seating inserts"

my ROW/Euro brochure states...."TWIN LEATHER--> Leather/Artico Man Made Leather"

I've been using the Armor All cleaning wipes(don't confuse these with the regular Armor All shining wipes). These have a mild soapy like solution on them. I use them on our BMW(with leatherette interior) and our ML350 with macadamian interior. It gets the bluejean stains off quite well.

I have Ash interior and the sides of the seats turn blue in my ML as well due to our jeans. I use the Armor All leather wipes and by rubbing hard, i can generally get rid of all the blue color

I love Ash interior but it is a PAIN to keep clean. Dont even get me started on the carpet

As far as leather on the '06 models, I think it is on the pleated center sections of the front seats as well as the upper part of back rest (shoulder area) and leading edge of lower cushion (thigh area). I am not sure about the headrests, I need to check them. Otherwise I do not hink there is any other leather other than steering wheel. I hope the MB tex on the rest of the interior is as durable as the MB tex I have seen on other, older M-B's. Didn't they go to all MB tex on the '07 & '08 models without the seperate leather option?

One other comment on staining - I have the black partial leather, and sunscreen can really discolor it. I can get it to look O.K. using Vinylex or Lexol, but it takes a very long time for the white from the sunscreen to stop re-appearing once the treatment dries up.
