Could someone please point me to where I can verify the manufacture date and location of my ML 500 using the VIN number? I'm getting the Middle East run-around and I want to know for myself.

It might be on one of the metal info plates on your car, like the driver's side door for example. If not, I think a quick email to MB in Germany with VIN included will get you an answer. As far as I know, any MB dealer in your part of the world should be able to find that as well.

Interestingly, my car is in the shop right now, and the MB dealership says they can't see on the computer for sure where it was manufactured... BUT they are saying that "for sure" my 2006 ML 500 was manufactured in April of 2005 and is, therefore, out of the three-year warranty. Surprising news for me, someone who thought they bought a demo unit from the same dealership, and was told it was only three months old --at least that's what the salesman said when I bought it. Further, they said it was manufactured in Tuscaloosa, AL... now the shop guy tells me he "thinks" it was manufactured in Germany.

The M and ML Class have always been made in Tuscaloosa, AL USA. For a few years (1999-2002) they were also made at the MagnaSteyr facility in Graz, Austria. Since then they have all been assembled in Alabama.
The M, R and GL models are built in Vance, Alabama. There is someone on this site who works in Alabama and says that the engine and such comes from Germany.
Here is a web address for MBUSI. Visitors center, factory tours and a museum are available.

The date of manufacture should have nothing to do with when the warranty begins. How can you start the warranty on the date of manufacture when it can months just to get the car to a dealer? But maybe it is very different over there so check your warranty booklet.
This is from the USA warranty booklet -
WARRANTY STARTS: The warranty period starts on the date the truck is delivered to the first retail purchaser or put in service as a MB Truck Center demonstrator or MB International Inc. MB Service Corp or MB USA company truck.
