A fellow on the MB diesel web site reported that he drove thru a deep puddle with his brand new Loredo CDR diesel. It's an MB 320CDI engine with different initials.
Water got sucked into the air intake and blew the engine apart. Somehow the jeeps intake is low down. Anyway, Jeep is installing a brand new engine under warranty.
It makes you want to get a snorkel.
Where is ML CDI air intake located?
On top of engine, I hope.
The air intake is located on the left side, up to just under the hood in the front, next to the radiator. Therefore, it is as high as possible. Also, the air tube runs down to the engine, and normally there is a container to allow water to separate from the air, before the filter.
