The common flaw with all BT phones with MB is that once leaving the car, the phone will not disconnect until you're outside the range or after 15 minutes or so. There is no fix for this - I've contacted everyone and tried everything.

Wouldn't disabling BT on your phone fix this issue?
I am having the exact same issue as hotsauce1208. Everytime I start the ML I have to turn off the bluetooth on the iphone and then turn it back on. I wish it would disconnect and reconnect automatically like my Razr and BB do. I think it is defintely and issue with the Iphone because it always says it is paired and I am getting the spinning wait signal on the bluetooth screen.
Hi you mentioned that your Razr disconnects and reconnects automatically; how come mine doesn't? I have to go back to the "Connection" submenu & reselect bluetooth everytime before it connects to the MB system. I have 4 phones programmed for this & the Razr unfortunately doesn't do it automatically. My software version for this Razr is R374_G_OE.41.C3R_B. Any idea?
but l have a LG Shine phone which is bluetooth capable..is the set-up the same...Forgive me, this technology is all new to me ?!?!?!............Thanks.........

l found out from my dealership, that my M-Class isn't pre-wired for Bluetooth...Wow...not pre-wired for this..not pre-wired for Sirius..not pre-wired for voice activation....The joys of purchasing a pre-owned Benz...Talk about losing business, l still believe Benz's should be pre-wired for all options , so if a custumer wants them later, they can be installed...just my opinion...and yes..l'm aware of the whole cost-cutting thing...."The bean counters rule the world"....
My iPhone linked with my C280 Comand no problem, and seems to work fine, but shows no sign of wanting to upload its contacts etc. into the MB. Should this be automatic or do you need to do something to get the transfer going? Perhaps I should finish reading the manual first, but after the first couple of thousand pages I'm slowing down...
