2007 ML320 CDI 3 months old 6k miles and not one issue. It is practical, fast, handles well and is reasonably economical. I love the seats and ride the most. It is also OK looking for an SUV. I did run into a guy with tranny problems on his GL320 CDI at the dealer. My 7 speed has been the best MB tranny I've had. I am nervous about issues I've read but even if it goes in for service here and there it will still be an enjoyable vehicle.
BTW - I traded an '06 4Runner for the ML. It had a half shaft "clunk" that the dealer was not able to fix. It also had scratched gauge faces from using cheap plastic. The truck's handling was somewhat unstable on the freeway and the seats were uncomfortable on anything but short commutes. The 4Runner had plenty of virtues too but the ML is much more enjoyable to drive.
'06 ML500 purchased in Nov. '05, no issues yet with 12,800mi on the odo, couldn't be happier with it. Best driving/riding/looking SUV I've owned IMHO...

I am sorry too..., I can't hold back either!! Why are you bashing some of us unlucky customers who have problems with our vehicles???!!! You don't see people with problematic cars bashing others who state their car is flawless!! You think we want these problems to happen and enjoy the enourmous inconveince and time spent bringing the vehicle to the dealership??!! Pad yourself in the back for your brand-loyalty. Better yet, trade your C-class in for a ML and cross your fingers buddy. Betcha if you had problems with the car, you won't admit it and still quote "MERCEDES-BENZ, UNLIKE ANY OTHER....." Oh btw, my post count is 49 and counting.......what's yours again????
I got bashed because I was complaining about how my c-class gave me many problems from power steering replacement at 400 miles. I mean this was a new car bought in july 2006. so far our c230 went to dealer 4 times within last year. I have many more reasons to complain about. You can't expect those few with no such luck to praise MB. So some dudes are telling people like me to maybe consider trading in for something else... well we did consider but we weren't gonna take a $12K depreciation just b/c some dude is telling me to. And no I'm not going to stop posting on mbworld or benzworld.org...
Don't get me wrong how love how our MB drives but it's not very practical in long run... just can't imagine owning an MB w/o warranty

Hey Swami,
Yep, I still have my 06 ML350. Though at times I feel like really getting rid of it because of.........you know!! sshhhh Thanks for reccommending me to the shop foreman at Autobahn in Redwood City. What did you end up getting??
My '07 ML CDI has been flawless in it's first 13,000 miles.
Tight, fast, quiet. The engine is superb. This is my 9th MB and 6th MB diesel.
I will never buy another brand car.

No problem. I don't have the ML anymore, but still creep around this forum from time to time.
I've been driving my good old toyota since. Just waiting to jump on 07 deals later in the year. I test drove quite a few SUV's already i.e., Cayenne, X5, FX35, and MDX. The market is very competitive nowadays! But IMHO, the ML still "look" the best out of the bunch...
I read your post about the MDX and actually have a slight difference of opinion on it. A member who noted a slight hesitation on the MDX is soo correct!! The car had good power, but for some reason, it didn't kick in til a good 2-3 sec after. Now that 2-3 sec means life and death to some.
