Versions of the 2008 Bluetec will use Urea fluid to diminish exhaust emmissions. How much is this fluid per gallon? Where can it be purchased other than at an MB dealer? How many miles per gallon will the fluid get? How large will the tank be on an ML-320? What range can one expect on a tank of Urea?
The whole urea fluid issue has been the sticking point in getting 50 state approval for the diesel. The 5 states which do not allow the diesel want to know that the fluid will be kept full, and I have not heard what point the discussion and agreements between the states and MBZ is at recently. The talk has been that it will be a dealer service item and I have been hearing a refill in the 15,000 - 20,000 mile range. Suggestion has been that the car will drop into a limp mode if the refills are not completed on time. Haven't heard cost yet.
