Comfort Exit Feature, seat not moving

I took my car into the dealership, and mentioned that the easy exit feature was not working right. I read in the manual that the seat slides back (Depending on how far back it is already) and the wheel moves up. My ML, the wheel move sup, but no seat movement.

The guy said that this feature was discontinued for 2007. I was surpised, as many other people here posted in an older thread on this issue, that they had this feature in there 2007 model.

Does anyone have insight into this?

thats BS, go to settings on the MFD and select convenience, the option will show you off, steering column only, and seat+steering column. Select the last one and you're done.

Thinkman;
I've gone into the menu, and I only have the option to turn the easy exit on or off, there is no options, or any other way. Just on or off...

btshep;
I'm disaapointed, I was sure the owners manual said it does. I will ahve to fidn the page in the manal again. Its also rather stupid it doesnt' do this, the whole point for me was nt banging my knees when I got in the ML, and moving the wheel up just isnt enough!

Thanks for the feedback

Remember if your normal seating position is rearward past a certain point the seat will not move any further back. That is assuming your car has the seat easy exit feature. My 06 does and I love it.

I read the manual again, and in two spots it points out that the wheel moves up, no mention of seat;
I could have sworn I read somwhere in the manual it does move the seat, and exactly what you speak of Sosh, if the seat is already back pas a certian point it will not move it.

either way, the dealership also said there is no feature for this in the 2007 anymore.

what a stupid thing to do, I love how features get removed while my order is being processed!

Quite frankly if it were me and I had ordered a car to my spec and one of the items was deleted due to decontenting I would not accept the vehicle.

I agee with you Sosh;
However the comfort exit feature was one I didnt test for, and when I spoke to the sales guy he told me the same thing I have to turn it on, there is a setting for each on its own, and I must not have done that.

Not to mention the other big thing I was missing was Voice command, and PDI I was told it was installed, and I had to train it before it would work; I left the dealership thinking it was there.

I didnt have much chance to catch these errors and differances in the models.
