Mercedes now offers the m63 style aluminum running boards as a dealer installed option - off of the web site should you be building a M class it is a $500 dollar option. However, to buy the parts the cost is $1,435 - go figure, and that does not include installation. That being said, according to my dealer there is only one pair in the US at this time.
Look for someone selling them. I bought my from a guy that took them off his ML63. Saved about $500 from what the stealer wanted. Paid $350 for the install.
