Just thought it would be interesting to post a comparison of my ML 320 CDI (wife's) and my E270 CDI Estate.
We have driven approximately 10.000 km's on each, and both are great rides in their own respect. Last week however, while driving about 100 miles back from my job to home, I ran across a really bad summer thunderstorm while on the Autobahn. Although the E is a great car with all safety features, I couldn't help but wish I was driving the ML instead. Especially at higher speeds on curvy roads, the all-wheel traction just can't be matched by a rear-drive.
Whereas the E can sometimes feel sluggish off the line or during kick-downs, the ML always seems to offer great acceleration.
