There are some new style 2007 ML Side Steps, I do not know what they look like but are metnioned in the 2007 specs, the GL also has the AMG Style side steps, you can see them on the Premier Edition, hopefully they will be out for the ML or the ML ones are this style, take a look at the GL Premier..

no pictures. All the dealer told me was the it will look like the ML63 style that is integrated into the bodywork and is painted body color. The price will be about the same as the currently available side step. Exact pricing on 07's is not available yet so on my order sheet, it states that "Sale is pending final price". Sorry I can't be of more help.

It is now referred to by MB as 'Footplate' or 'Running Boards'
The Option Code is still 846, i.e. the same as the ole 'Side Step Bars' or 'Side Rails', depending on where you live.

I've asked the AMG side steps for my 320CDI (just arrived) and my dealer says:
there's two side steps modelavailable: the first one is the kit you can mount after market (big steps and with two big rubber steps), and is around 1100 EUR + mounting ( around 1400 eur total)
the second is the AMG sidestep (smaller and very cool) but costs AROUND 2000 EUR mounted!!!!!!!!
THAT'S CRAZY! the option (846) same AMG sidestep is 500 EUR when you purchase the car!!!!!!!
the other day i saw the sidesteps on a brand new ml350 with appearence, it ad the same ones the ml63 has. luckily, i took some pictures and i'll try to uplad them today.
