No ML 550 for 2007

My dealer just faxed me a copy of the MY07 M-Class Dealer Ordering Guide. It lists the upcoming ML320 CDI (available in 45 states) and is due out in Mid October and it also lists the ML63 AMG and it shows a planned release date of August/September. The specs for the ML 500 shows the same as today, 5.0L SOHC 24-Valve V8 with 302 hp and 339 lb-ft torque. No 5.5 engine. New standard equipment for the ML 500 includes Full MB Tex, cargo cover and rear side air bags and active head restraints.

There are also now 3 option packages ranging from $2800 to $8675.

P1 Package: Electric sunroof, rain sensing wipers, power lift gate, harmon/kardon Logic 7 system, Sirius satellite radio, hands free communication system, Teleaid & Homelink - $3500 ML350/ML320, $2800 ML500

P2 Package: Includes P1, plus DVD navigation, Auto-dimming mirror, power folding mirrors, rear-view camera, power steering column and memory seat function - $6500 ML350/ML320, $5800 ML500

P3 Package: Includes P1 & P2, plus Air suspension, Active damping shocks, parameter steering, 3-zone climate control, infared glass, rear seat controls, cargo management system, cargo net - $9000 ML350/ML320, $8675 ML500

There are four other Code packages (1) Exterior appearance (2) AMG Sport (3) Rear seat entertainment (4) Heating package

Then, there about 17 stand alone options.

The ML63 comes very loaded with all 3 option packages standard. Very few options are available for it. It even comes with 20" wheels. With all the standard goodies, I guess the rumored $80,000 base price is probably true.

No base prices are shown for any model.

Thanks for the info. I at least thought they'd put the 4.6 in. My guess at this point is the ML will get the 4.6 when the GL gets the 5.5. As long as it's selling reasonably well, I can see houw DB would want to roll out improvements slowly to extend interest.

I guess the Porsche looks better right now for you, instead of the ML63?!!?

I already decided to got with the Porsche myself, but I am going to wait for the 2007 MY. Reliability on the ML right now doesn't look good enough for me either. Hopefully they will get that fixed by next year.

I didn't want to wait until the 2008 facelifted Cayenne shows up in the summer of 2007. I need/want a new SUV now. Since the Turbo S came out, Porsche has quit making the regular Turbo. So, I went looking for existing inventory with the hope of finding the equipment I wanted. I found a new 2005 Turbo that was equipped almost exactly the way I wanted. The dealer was offering it for almost $15,000 off. That is about $3000 below invoice. I bought it for less than what is being asked for used 2005's. This way if I decided to later get the facelifted Cayenne or the ML63 (if I decide it turns out to be the right pick) I can do it with less $$$ damage.

The more I looked at the ML63 I continued to be bothered by the reliability issues. Add to that the fact that I am not really sure I like some AMG touches such as the front end, fender flares and running board. I actually like the look of the regular ML's better. The ML63 looks a little "boy toyish" to my eyes. Hope to not offend anyone....it isn't that bad, just a little more than I would prefer. It wouldn't keep me from buying one.

Interesting, so it seems the rear view camera is new. With these new options is the appearance pack now tied into the AMG sport package? I guess all it really did was make a 350 look more like a 500, but it adds some other nice sporty interior options. That would be interesting (tho I'm already comitted to my 06) to see that Appearance and AMG were now one option since you can't currently get them both at the same time.

If I find out keyless go is now an option on the 350 tho I'll be piiiiiiiiised. ;)

The 2007 ML350 comes standard with Full MB Tex, Brown Birds-eye Maple Wood Trim, Privacy glass, Roof Rails, Cargo Cover, Rear side air bags, new black and chrome grill and active head restraints. Here's the info on the other packages:

Code 322, exterior appearance package - Chrome door handles and dual squared chrome exhaust tips and silver/chrome grill, 19" 5-spoke wheels, blue glass and smoked tailights. $1450 ML350/320 $950 ML500

Code 321, AMG Sport package - Chrome accents and silver/chrome grill, AMG styled front and rear bumpers, 19" AMG 5-spoke wheels. $4550 ML350/320 $4250 ML500

Code 864, Rear seat DVD entertainment system $2800

Code 323, Heating package - Heated front and rear seats and heated steering wheel $1360 ML350/320 $800 ML500.

From what I can tell Keyless GO is only available on the ML500 and ML63. It is a $1100 option.

Thanks for that. I wonder what happened to the interior silver instrument cluster and the metal pedals from the Appearance pack?

Does anyone know when the MB dealers will be accepting orders for the 2007 M-class and when those 2007 vehicles will be available?

They can accept orders now, but they don't have pricing. The planned release dates are:
ML350 - July/August
ML320 CDI - Mid October
ML500 - July/August
ML63 AMG - August/September
