When I reprogramed the sound on my Ipod it turned out a lot better, hope this helps for you as well! It is still not the same soundquality as the CD but I believe that is due to the files on the Ipod!

in iTunes you can always boost the volume of songs.... just be careful not to blow your headphones/car speakers.

Ok, i havent read all the posts, but make sure iPod volume is turned up to the max

I have documented some fixes for this on

iPod Volume too low fixes

a) theres a hidden diagnostic menu on later iPod controllers
b) theres now an amplifier which can be added
