It's been 1 problem after another and it has really taken it's toll out of my enjoyment to drive the car. If you guys have followed my prior postings, my car had the valve body and transmission changed to fix the transmission jerking issue. It has been downhill since... The "check oil engine light" came on numerous times and they changed the oil sensor 2 times and did a high rev test where they drove the car hard and added 150 miles. And NOW........... I started the car yesterday morning and noticed a very loud tick..tick noise around the engine area. Turned it off and restarted and the noise was still there. Just drove to work thinking it would go away and it eventually did after 30 mins or so. It was loud enough to catch attention from street pedestrains. And not suprisingly, it happen again when I left work last night. I have narrowed it down and the noise would "only" occur on cold starts and during those 30 mins, "only" when I come to a stop. No ticking noise when the car is moving.
So, I brought it to dealer this morning and was crossing my fingers that the noise would not go away before I get there bacause they would deny it. The freeking noise went away 10 mins before I got there. Nevertheless, I "asked" them if I can leave my car there for the weekend and get a loaner because I definetly didn't want to risk anymore damage, if any. The dumb-a@@ SA that I've been dealing with gave me a hard time and told me to bring it in next week because they don't have room in the shop for a car that needs to be tested on a cold start. That got me fuming and I just walked away and left my car there, with the keys inside. The service manager just called me to apologize and said they will send out a loaner asap. I told him politely that I understand and appreciate they are trying to help me, but what makes it worst is the customer service they provide. I also brought up the lemon law issue and he said this was not enough to invoke it. Then what is consider enough???????????
Don't ever take the dealers word on Lemmon Law issues, you can easily find your State's law and there is even free help in using it. Do a Google search and you will find all the help you need.

without judging how harsh your problems really have been, i sympathize with you in that i know how having to take the car to the dealer for this or that problem, or even worrying about when the next problem will occur, takes away from should be a mostly enjoyable experience. My ML is still young but has had some issues (liftgate and check engine - twice each), but i am hoping the next 15k miles or so go smoothly. the jury is still very much out. bottom line, my experience thus far has made me lean heavily towards getting a japanese car for my next purchase, because, they are more reliable, plain and simple.
