If anyone is still awake

Speed channel is showing a special on AMG. Klaus Ludwig is now driving the SLR on the German Autobahn. 300 kmh, just for fun. [:D]

How am I going to fall asleep? [:p]

RE: If anyone is still awake

I remember the Speed Channel showing something similar about AMG a few weeks ago. I don't get the Speed channel, so I'm stuck with Car & Driver TV on SpikeTV.[:D]

It was really neat. Seeing two SL 55 AMGs drifting together at Hockenheim during a morning shower was pure poetry. I've seen Klaus Ludwig driving in the DTM, so I can appreciate his effort, especially when battling the Audis driven by J. Stuck and his pals...

I too saw the coverage. It was very well done and the host was very personable! Note that the host had apparently never driven a Keyless Go and mentioned how much he liked that feature. He stated "he can leave the key in his pocket all the time," or something to that effect.

I wouldn't have ordered Keyless Go on my ML, but when I bought an inventory model it had the feature. Now that I have used it, it is one feature I wouldn't be without! Especially nice in cold weather where you can leave your gloves on when you open the car door!

RE: If anyone is still awake

Since the Keyless feature wasn't available on the 350, I didn't consider it.

I've watched the Speed TV show on a number of occasions and the host is quite relaxed, always taking someone along for a ride and chatting with them while both of them are speeding around the track.

This was the first time I've seen him so excited, probably because he was testing the AMG cars directly at the source and because he had a chance to catch up with Ludwig. It was funny to see Ludwig's reaction to this drooling "kid": "Yeah, whatever, just another day on the job". Been there, done that, especially when he put him in the DTM "taxi".

Another time, he was testing the M5 at the Nurburgring and Stuck was taking him around.

How can I get a job like that one? Oh yeah, I should have been driving Go Karts at the age of 5. Too late now... [V]
