New ML 320 CDI diesel in 2006 :-)
It's official now, the new ML 320 CDI diesel is coming to the USA in 2006. Blurb from MBUSA:
"To meet this strong demand
Mercedes-Benz will expand its diesel offering with the introduction of the
ML320 CDI diesel in 2006, followed by a new V6 E320 CDI."

Does MBUSA have exchange offer, I am tempted to exchange my ML350 with ML320CDI, not interested in trade-in. Gas Savings would not justify the value lost in trade-in.[:p]

I got it. I usually go to the German site as the UK doesn't always get every model either (no 400CDI).
Either way, if the ML or E wagon comes with the 320 CDI, I will be saving my pennies for it.

Dan, yes on both counts. No idea about the MPG yet, as far as it measured in Canadian standards.

Wagon, unlikely. The E-class wagon just doesn't get enough sales to justify certifying the diesel for it (sadly, I might add!). However the sedan will get the V6 CDI and with the 4matic system too [:)]

im geting 33mpg when driving motorway at speeds average 80mpg and around 24 mpg in heavy traffic if that helps.
Car is very very powerful in mid range and have had it over 135 mph, engine is awsome.

Is that Imperial MPG or US MPG?
Fill in your location information in your profile so I won't have to ask again[:D]

Here's my conversion formula between German and US figures:
http://www.whnet.com/4x4/convert.html
For example I stick in the fuel economy figure for my first week with the new OM642 V6 turbodiesel in the ML 320 CDI of 9.4 liters per 100 km, then hit TAB and it displays 25.02 MPG (using miles per US gallons).

RE: New ML 320 CDI diesel in 2006 :-)
My 320 CDI gives me 11 to 12 litre/100km in general use, which is 15 mile main road drive to work each day and every couple of weeks a healthy burn down the autobahn. On the day of collection the car only went 130mph, will now (1250 miles/2500km approx later) do 136mph. No oil consumption. Drive it hard from the start - bugger the running in (break in) period as all engines are bench tested.
And for our American Friends - dicovery the joy of modern fast diesel engines. You too will be like us over this side of the water and enjoy the benefits of power, torque, refinement and economy. Still miss going 154mph down the autobahn in my BMW 530d[:D][:D][:D]
