New Nav Disk

Has anyone got the new nav disk in there ML yet. I have talked to my dealer and I will be getting the new nav when they get a load of new ML's with the disks.

If anyone has the disk, can you tell me the difference from the new (c class) and the updated nav disk?

RE: New Nav Disk

N one has the new disk... Everyone was tlaking about how they ordered, but no one wants to share.... Come on. Either is was a waste of money and they are pissed, or no one got the disk yet.

The C-class COMMAND system is more expensive (roughly $1,000 more) and different than the ML-class COMMAND system. In general, the NAV discs vary from model to model and are not compatible.

So the C-class discs can not be substituted for the ones in the ML and vice versa. [:)]

IMHO, an added value to having the Nav discs is purchasing the subscription to keeping them updated on a yearly basis (steets change, places go out of business, etc.).

Thanks for the pics. Have you used this new nav yet? If so how is it and can you post a pic from the nav unit?

Thanks

RE: New Nav Disk

I live on the MS Gulf Coast and this is my first post since the storm. Just yesterday I received a call from my dealer that my navi disk arrived this past Friday. Believe it or not the dealership suffered substanial damage but yet are still in business selling vehicles. I'll pick up my disk tomorrow and submit a report on findings soon.

samhmbz can you provide a part number for the disk you have so that I can make certain I receive the right one.

I think it really depends on where you live or where you want to navigate. I am in Winnipeg, and the C class disk sucked!! It showed the perimeter highway, Portage and Main, and the Mercedes dealership.
When I read that the 2005.1 disk was available, I basically told the dealership that there was no way I was going to accept a 2004 DVD for a 2006 car.

Guess I was convincing, as they had the new disk ready for me when I arrived. For Winnipeg (and from what I hear, several Canadian cities not named Vancouver or Toronto), there is now great maps available.

The only thing I have noticed is that when you get to the suburbs, the nav cannot determine turn-by-turn directions. Still, you get the as-the-crow-flies arrow, and can figure it out.

HTH,
Brian

My dealer is giving me a new disk as well. He is planning on giving me one once they get a new ML in stock with the new disk. I think the C class disk is bad and not worth a dime. They can for sure guide u to the MB dealer to bitch about the nav... haha I should have mine soon as well. I would like to see some pics on what it looks like vs the C disk.
