ML 350-Color choice

I’m about to order ML-350
W/appearance pkg, Charcoal Alcantara, Comfort, Lighting and Entertainment pkgs, with Sirius, iPod, Rear-Seat Entertainment System. However I am agonizing about the color choice between Pewter, Iridium or Black.

I looked at the ML at the dealer and the Black Obsidian looks awesome, and stands out more so of the other two colors. The Iridium ML also looks better than the Pewter. However, the Pewter gives the Car a kind of understated Elegance and grace for ML.

Let me know your thoughts.... Pros and Cons on these color choices particularly with the Obsidian Black. I have never owned a Black car and I’m now afraid to make the leap and regret my decision later.

Iridium Silver for me. My opinion, it looks sporty, especially I'm going to put on the same color rims. Also, the bumper guards (or whatever you call them) are silver. The grill (Appearance Package) is silver/chrome. It goes with the color of the car. It's easy to keep clean. I had a black car before my w164 and I always see spiderwebs from wiping it. Even when I wax it, I still see it.

RE: ML 350-Color choice

i also agonized a bit over colors, between Alpine rain, iridium, and pewter, but ultimately went with iridium for my 350, which i ordered w/appearance pack and most options. i chose against pewter because i thought it looked a little odd in the sun, almost goldish-brown in color. it is a nice color, though, even though my dealer was like "not sure what to make of pewter, what color is it?". AR was too blue for me in the sun. silver was the 'safe' and somewhat boring choice, looks good with appearance pack, easy to keep clean, and according to the dealer, the most popular benz color and easiest to resell/trade in. good luck with your choice, but i agree that there really is no color choice that stands out as heads and shoulders above the rest.

RE: ML 350-Color choice

I was dissapointed by the limited color choices and the lack of any exciting colors. I did go with Alpine Rain. I would have gone with another black opal (like my current ML500) but, it is no longer available

IMO The by far nicest combination is obsidian black metalic with kashmire- beige full leather inside, without the appearance package. In black the front grill should be "semi- chrome", that means the inside part is painted black. (the full chrome grill with obsidian blck is too much IMO).This combination is unfortunately not practical at all: you have to wash every few days and in the summer it's getting really hot inside.

Pewter (in Europe cubanit metallic I suppose) looks fine too but changes color during the day, becomes almost gold metallic when the sun is low in the afternoon. When I asked my dealer about cubanit metalic (pewter) he told me to be carefull not to loose money by trading in car later.

Iridium Silver with full Chrom grill and black interior (Alcantara as in appearance package, or black Leather) is IMO the best choice considering simplicity keeping clean the car, inside temperature, beautiness and simplicity to trade in later. Don't forget that almost all official presentation photes from MB showed iridium silver models with full chrom grill.

I decided for silver with premium (full leather)- package and the full chrome grill (in Europe you have to order Chrompackage and Offroad styling package in order to get this grill) In Athens where I live it was the most reasonable choice I think.
