Toll Tag Placement

Any of you folks have a toll tag in your window on the new ML? I am not sure where to put mine, any advice?

RE: Toll Tag Placement

On my current W163 I have it right under the rear view mirror. I plan to put it in the same place with my W164

RE: Toll Tag Placement

Infrared reflecting windshield*
1 Mounting location for electronic toll
collection devices (infrared transparent)
Your vehicle is equipped with infrared reflecting
glass which reduces the amount of
radiated heat entering the interior through
the windows.
The infrared reflecting glass also prevents
the transmission of signals through the
glass by in-vehicle electronic devices (e.g.
electronic toll collection devices).
To allow the use of these devices in the
vehicle, two infrared transparent areas
(1and 2) are placed in the windshield.

(Getting errors trying to upload image)
Someone else has already uploaded an image of the windshield. It's on p 296 of the manual

RE: Toll Tag Placement

basically its the area immediately to the left and to the right of the "blacked out" area on the top-center of the windshield. or direclty on the bottom-center of the windshield.

I have put my EZ pass in various location (left of black area, right of black area, under the black area, etc) and it worked just fine.

RE: Toll Tag Placement

There are two maybe three places on the W164 where you can place the toll reader. Its in the manual on page 296.

RE: Toll Tag Placement
