Pics Of 20" Wheels

This is what I plan to put on my w164 within the week. I got the pic from another website but it gives an idea what a 20x9.5 wheel looks on a 295/40 R20 tire. I must say, not bad. Of course I cannot make my final critique until they are on the car. The wheel is Antera Type 325. I will put on Pirelli 295/40 R20 with it since Antera recommends Pirelli. I have Irridium Silver with Appearane Package and I think the color of the wheel will go well with it. I'm worried about how big that wheel gap will look since I don't have airmatic. But the overall diameter is about .26 inch larger than the stock 255/50 R19 tire. Plus, it's 1.58 inch wider. Also, I don't know if the 295/40 will fit in front so I'm prepaired to put on 265/45s at worst case. I'm really straying away from 22s and lowering since I don't want to give up the ride comfort and I value my warranty.
So let me know what you guys think. Any input is appreciated.

With ET 45, 295/40 fits the 4 wheels; at least acording with kleemann.

Please take lot of pics.

Best Regards.

I tried attaching the pic of the wheel from another website but it will not do it. Any suggestions?

Making pics from other websites "appear"

Here's how I do it (not to say that this is THE way to do it [;)][;)]):

Have the posting window open here simultaneausly with the site where the pic of the wheel is. Post whatever you want to write, then 2x enter to make a couple of line breaks.

Then swap to the wheel site, right-click on the picture, and click on "properites". Highlight the URL of the picture, and copy that.

Go back to the posting window, and click on "Image" above. Paste the URL of the picture in between the HTML codes that will appear at the end of your text - that should be it.

Before posting, it's advisable (always) to check your posting by clicking on "Preview" - it's very easy to have the HTML codes messed up.

Hope this helps - look forward to see the wheels.

Cheers,
Birger

Hi, Flipsonic

The wheels are very nice - I just wonder why, if they recommend Pirellis, they show their wheels shod with Toyo tires???

Cheers,
Birger

I got the picture form a website. The guy that owns that car chose to use Toyo. But Antera does recommend Pirelli. You know, both are Italian made. Although Toyo looks nice (very sporty looking), I will keep my wheels/tires Italian.

RE: Pics Of 20" Wheels

Sorry, Flipsonic

I thought the photos were off the official website, not "just" photos of someone's car.

Seeing that the main Pirelli factory and the Antera factory are quite close, it indeed makes sense [;)]

BTW, here's the official Antera picture of the type 325 wheel:

Nice indeed! But the type 301:

isn't bad either....

Cheers, and good luck

RE: Pics Of 20" Wheels

Yes, those two (Antera 325 and Antera 301) are my choices. I looked at many wheels before I came to the conclusion these are the ones I want. I like the 5 spoke wheel rather than the 6 spokes. That's why I went with the 325. I think the 5 spoke looks sportier. I only wished the spokes were more rounded to go with the flow of the body.
Anyway, I put the order in today. I went with a local shop rather than ordering from the web. For $100 bucks more, I don't have to worry about anything. I can always go to them if there is a problem. In addition, free lifetime balancing and rotation. I will post the pics as soon as I put them on.

RE: Pics Of 20" Wheels

Well finally, here is a pic of my ML350 with 20" Antera Type 325 wheels. I took the pic with my camera phone today just after they installed it. The resolution isn't that great but I'll take more pics with my other camera later. As you can see, the Pirelli tires are massive at 295/40 R20. The fronts are the same size and they stick out more than I expected. For now, I can live with it. I may change the fronts to 265/45 R20 later. Yes, I wish the car is lower but I can also live with it for now. I don't have airmatic. The distributor forgot to include the hub centric rings and there was a lot of shaking when I test-drove it. So I had them take it off until the rings come tomorrow. The fronts do not rub. I'm happy with the ride comfort, as it did not change. The only thing, I get a message to check the tire pressure. I'm sure it's because of the new tires and does anyone know how I can reset it? I guess I can play with it when I get them back on tomorrow.
